5 creative ideas for your next real estate website blog post

by Chris Olbekson on Nov 09, 2009

Keeping up with your real estate website blog can be challenging, especially for the busy large market agent who already has too many tasks, appointments and other obligations to manage. When you do find the time to post it can often be difficult choosing a topic to write about. In this short article, I am going to lay out 5 creative ideas that your readers and potential clients will find useful and informative.

1. An article describing a recent transaction.
You could take the details from one of your recent successful transactions and start a new category for you blog called “Success Stories”. You could detail specific challenges or hurdles you had to overcome to get the deal closed. Make sure to include pictures or other relevant details that made you come out looking like the hero agent you are.

2. A neighborhood comparison report.
Is there a particular neighborhood or part of town you specialize in? Why not run a comp for that area and list the last 4 or 5 properties that sold in that area and write a short description about what factors are contributing to a final sale price. This information will be helpful for potential buyers and sellers looking to use your services.

3. Write a short article of praise about another real estate or mortgage lending professional with whom you have had recent contact with.
Have you had a recent smooth transaction with a particular loan officer or sellers agent? Why not write a short article of praise about this other professional? Praise and thanks is often overlooked in the industry and this will not only make you look very compassionate but could gain you many referrals down the line.

4. A short article about any new listing you might have.
Why not make it a practice to include a short article in your blog about any new listing you might have. This will also help your new listing get coverage it will also provide great content for your blog. You can be as descriptive as you want and make sure to include a few pictures.

5. A review of a local neighborhood restaurant or bar.
Have a favorite place to eat or hangout at in your target market neighborhood? Why not write a short positive review of it. This information is very useful to new residents (your potential buyers) and will show that you support and believe in your market area. You should send a copy of your article to the establishment as they will appreciate your kind words and possible recommend you to others.
